Sayadaw Pannananda and the Management Committee of Vipassana Meditation Centre (Singapore) wish you and your family a peaceful and happy Vesak!
Vesak day marks the three most important events in the life of the Buddha: his Birth, Enlightenment and Final Passing away. According to Buddhist tradition these three events took place on the full moon night of Visakha (The month of May in the ancient Indian calendar). Most of us celebrate Vesak by going to temples or meditation centre to perform religious duties like offering alms, listening to Dhamma talks and other devotional rites. All these we carry out in honour of our most revered teacher, the Buddha.
