Before Sayadaw officially became the owner of the Shwe Taung Sâsana Yeiktha, it seemed that donors were hesitant. After Sayadaw officially became the owner of the Shwe Taung Sâsana Yeiktha, donors heaped donations onto the center. Something Sayadaw said regarding one monk, though others have heard it, is a good one to remember, filled as it is with his first-hand experience.
"He doesn't yet understand. Just work for the welfare of others with pure goodwill. One's own benefit comes of its own accord."
