Thank you
Our recently concluded retreat at Ti-Sarana Buddhist Association was very successful. In-fact, its success was beyond our expectation. Organizing this retreat was no mean task and the retreat would not have went so well without the selfless assistance rendered by so many generous people in terms of valuable time, services, morale support, donations and many other ways.
On behalf of Vipassana Meditation Centre, I would like to express our gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the following people for their selfless meritorious act.
Sayadaw U Kundalabhivamsa for his valuable guidance and loving-kindness showed to the yogis as well as the organizers.
Ven. Ratanasiri for his kind support and allowing the use of Ti-Sarana for this retreat.
Sayadaw U Pannananda for conducting the retreat at VMC for the Part-time yogis whom would otherwise have been turned away as there was not enough place for them at Ti-Sarana.
Ti-Sarana Management Committee, their President Mr Lee Kwok Lim, and his committee members, Eric Wong and Steven Aw for their kind support and help.
Sister Bee Wee for initiating this retreat, sourcing the place, and inviting Sayadaw U Kundala to Singapore. Bee Wee had sacrificed much of her personal time working silently in the background during the initial stage of planning for this retreat. Though she works full time, she finds time to practice meditation and to organize retreat for the benefit of others. Despite her busy schedule, she is very helpful and showed much concern for the retreat. She personally sees to it that everything from the beginning right to the end is in order and taken care of.
Brother Kyaw Teza, Chairman of the retreat organizing committee. When we were planning for the retreat last year, we were hunting around for a retreat organizer for the Chinese New Year retreat. We were happy that Teza came forward and volunteered his service. There is much sacrifice involved in being a retreat organizer. Teza was however quite happy and determine to accomplish the heavy task entrusted to him. Without him the retreat would not have been a reality. He actually used his annual leaves so that he can be at Ti-Sarana during the duration of the retreat. He was at the center of the whole retreat organization and implementation. He supervised the whole operation, and also provided translation for the non-Burmese Yogis during the retreat.
Other members of the Retreat Organising Committee also rendered much services. Brother Clark Tan used his annual leaves during the retreat in order that he could be around to offer his services towards this meaningful work. In many ways he helped ensure the smooth operation of the retreat. Sister Kim Kim, Sister Hong Thiam, Sister Mi Mi and Sister Pauk Pauk, sacrificed much of their personal time helping out at the retreat.
U Win Myint and Ma Khin Thet Htwe whom generously sponsored the air-tickets for Sayadaw U Kundala and his Kappiya.
Brother Kyaw Min, whom services is like that of a King's Minister whom is versed in all states affair. In many ways we depended on him for the many tasks which only he alone knows best. Yet he took on those tasks with much dedication.
Dr Thin Maung Maung Than for his lucid and skilful translation of Sayadaw's talk.
All food donors whom so generously and cheerfully offered breakfast and lunch dana for the monks and yogis.
All those whom provided transport for the Sayadaws as well the female yogis, enabling them to go through this retreat comfortably.
All Dhamma helpers, cash donors and all who have in one way or another help to make this retreat possible.
Sadhu! to all of you. May your generosity and selflessness bring you much joy and happiness. May you attain the desirable goal of Nibbana, the cessation of all dukkha. May you be well, happy and peaceful.
Finally, we like to thank all yogis for your participation and support. We hope it had been a spiritually fulfilling retreat for you and that you have benefited much from the retreat.
We hope to see you again in the near future, particularly at the coming sticky rice festival cum Chinese New Year Blessing on 19 February evening at VMC.
Thank you all again. Sadhu, Sadhu, Sadhu.
With Much Metta,
VMC
